Parvalux In The Community 2025

In 2025 We continued to be heavily involved in our local community with fundraising events and sponsorship of local schools. At the end of every year, we like to review the impact we have made in the local area, looking back at charity events, fundraising programmes and more! In 2024 we raised a fantastic £1,053 for our charity of the year and made a good effort to top that last year…   Charity of the Year We supported Forest Holme Hospice, a fantastic charity based in Poole, focused on ensuring that everyone in the local community affected by life-limiting illnesses or bereavement get the care and support they need. The Fundraising started in late 2024 with a Christmas Jumper Day and raffle, we were able to raise a fantastic £888! . This was followed a charity Golf Day organised by Forest Holme at Knighton Heath Golf Club. We were represented by 8 of the best golfers from around the factory and office, split into 2 teams of 4 they placed a very respectable 7th and 21st out of 43! Next up was a volunteer day at the Hospice in June, another 8 volunteers went out to help with some maintenance on the hospice grounds. This included Painting fences and some other general bits. Kirsty from Forest Holme said – “They were absolutely brilliant, and we’re so grateful for the help!”. In August, we held a charity bake sale, leaning into the wide variety of nationalities we are lucky to have among the staff and encouraging everyone to bring in a sweet or savoury treat from their country! We had a huge selection of incredible treats and were able to raise £310 pounds towards our end of year donation, a big success! We also Hosted games, Christmas jumper day and a big raffle at Christmas time, with a donation securing your entry. Many people got involved in our games such as guess the baby and guess the number of sweets in the jar, and the raffle was hugely popular with entries and prizes brought in from everyone around the business. After all of this we were able to raise £1082.39 in support of Forest Holme, We have been proud to support them throughout the last year and we look forward to this years fundraising for our new charity!
Poole High Greenpower Race car At Parvalux we always Make an effort to encourage and support the next generation of engineers and innovators, as a part of this we are involved in sponsoring projects that get young people interested in engineering! One of the Local Schools, Poole High, are taking part in an electric racing competition called Greenpower formula 24. This is a competition where students from years 7 and 8 (overseen by a small number of sixth form students) work together to build an electric race car that they will then race against other schools, the school that completes the most distance will then be declared the winner! We are proud to support the team and were able to visit and see some of the amazing work and problem solving the students used to work as a team and build the car ready for the race later in the year.   Poole Grammar School Robotics We are also proud to sponsor the Poole grammar school robotics team. They were very successful over the last year, Winning the “Think” award at The first tech challenge in the regional heats held at Bournemouth university. The team were highlighted as clear winners for their portfolio, showing a highly detailed and technically strong analysis of each stage of their development.   Work Experience We took on 3 students from local schools for our work experience programme last year, Rafael, Albert and Amy all came to gain an understanding of the career paths they were interested in. At the end of the week, they all left with valuable knowledge and hands-on experience from all different areas of the business.
Air Ambulance In April we were surprised to hear a helicopter flying very low over the factory. It turned out to be the Dorset and Somerset air ambulance! They used the field at the back of the factory as a transfer point from a road to air ambulance, It was a pleasure to have our premises help such a good cause.   National Manufacturing Day 25th September 2025 was National Manufacturing Day, and we were so pleased to be able to open our doors to students at Portfield School.  This is the first NMD we have hosted at our new site so it was great to be able to showcase what we do and provide the students with an insight into career pathways within manufacturing. A few words below from the staff and students at Portfield… “The pupils and staff at Portfield School & Sixth Form would like to thank Parvalux for hosting us for National Manufacturing Day 2026.  We are grateful for your team’s generosity in sharing your time and expertise, and the positive and enthusiastic atmosphere created by everyone involved. The experience provided the pupils with invaluable insight into the manufacturing industry and the world of work.  The visit has undoubtedly inspired many of them and will be a significant part of their career exploration as they consider their future paths.” The students said… “I really enjoyed the practical elements.” “Finding out about 3D printing and getting a printed model boat was the highlight for me!” “Good to see that a range of people can work at the same place doing different jobs to suit their skills.”   It was fantastic to be involved in the amazing local community in 2025 and we are excited to continue supporting local schools and charities over the coming year. Stay tuned to hear about what we get up to.
