Engineering Reliability

How Parvalux can keep your production line running smoothly
In any high-volume automated packaging space, reliability isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity. For every minute of machinery downtime, for whatever reason, there is a cost; this can be money, productivity, consistency, company reputation and ultimately customer confidence.

Reliability does not come from fancy marketing campaigns and business strategies. It can be found within the foundational basics – motor solutions. If the electric motors driving your equipment are unreliable everything else will be inefficient resulting in downtime and financial and reputational damage. That is why design engineers across the world rely on Parvalux, as we pride ourselves on electric motor solutions which deliver precision, endurance, and efficiency. Every time.

Parvalux Basics: Torque, Speed, Power, Voltage

Geared Motor Basics: Torque, Speed, Power and Voltage Explained
When choosing an electric motor as well as a gearbox, you’ll be asked to decide on a number of technical specifications – the most important of which are torque, speed, power and voltage. These form the fundamentals of your motor and how well it will operate, but what do these terms actually mean and how do they affect motor performance for your specific application?

To answer, let’s go back to the basics.

Torque in essence is the measure of rotational force that causes the motor shaft to rotate. This rotation is measured in Newton-meters (Nm) and can be thought of as how much ‘turning strength’ a motor or gearbox can deliver.

High-torque geared motors are ideal for applications that require strong rotational force at low speeds, such as lifting mechanisms and conveyors with heavy, constant loads.

Conversely, low-torque motors with high speed are best suited for fans or pumps where continuous, lighter loads are common.

The relationship between torque and speed is inverse. As one increases, the other usually decreases. Efficient operation is dependent on finding the right balance between torque and speed.

How Parvalux Design Electric Motors for Challenging Environments

All of the motors designed and manufactured by Parvalux, are guaranteed to deliver consistent performance even in the most challenging and unpredictable environments. Whether this is a marine wiper system which battles daily sea spray and salt water, or an industrial machine exposed to continuous dust and debris, the level of performance and durability is the same.
At Parvalux, we’ve spent decades engineering solutions that keep working where others may fail. A prime example is our VIPER3 motor, developed in partnership with Hepworth Marine. This motor demonstrates how careful design, robust materials, and rigorous testing can create a motor built for even the harshest conditions.

Brushed vs Brushless in Automated Packaging

Brushed vs Brushless in Automated Packaging
Packaging automation can be a total gamechanger for any distribution center, as it not only streamlines the process, but can save money, improve throughput, reduce waste and be more time and energy efficient.

However, when it comes to packaging automation machinery, motors are the driving force behind performance, reliability, and efficiency and therefore choosing the right model is a pivotal point of the process.

This starts with the choice of whether to use brushed or brushless motors. As each has its own advantages, limitations, and ideal applications the right choice is dependent on the project and its requirements.
