Parvalux Company History

Parvalux Electric Motors Ltd was first established in 1947 by Mr L. Clark in London, E12, where it began by selling motor rewinds. The company relocated to the Bournemouth area in 1957 and moved from simply rewinding motors to designing and manufacturing complete gear-motor units for industrial applications

The company continued to prosper and develop new products, offering a broad range of AC and DC electric motors and gearboxes. This enabled sales into a diverse range of markets and applications all over the world, from golf buggies to powered wheelchairs.

In 2008, Parvalux acquired the Essex based EMD Drive Systems Ltd. and relocated it to its Bournemouth HQ, nearly doubling the turnover in the process.

The Clark Group’s ownership of the company came to an end in December 2018 when maxon motor, the specialist for mechatronic drive systems, acquired the company.

As a specialist British electric motor manufacturer, we are incredibly proud of how Parvalux’s company history has shaped who we are today.
