 About Us - History

Parvalux was first established in 1947 by Mr L. Clark in Romford, Essex, where it first began by selling motor rewinds. It relocated to Bournemouth in 1957 and the company moved from simply rewinding motors to designing and manufacturing complete gear-motor units for industrial applications.

The company continued to prosper and develop new products offering a broad range of AC and DC electric motors and gearboxes enabling the business to sell into a diverse range of markets and applications all over the world.

At the end of 2018 the Clark Group ownership of Parvalux came to an end when maxon motor, the specialist for mechatronic drive systems, acquired the company

With this, maxon expanded its portfolio with AC motors, worm gearboxes, and DC drives in the power range of up to 1.5kW. The collaboration between the two companies enables maxon to take another step towards becoming a provider of complete systems, with Parvalux in turn benefitting from maxon’s global sales network for its continued growth.
