We've unveiled a new gearbox which is designed specifically for golf trolleys. A great example of our in-house design capability, the mounting holes on the GB41 have been precisely located to ensure that it can be retrofitted to any golf trolley on the UK market. This offers an enormous outreach into this growing market.
The gearbox arrives in a black finish and consists of a CNC machined aluminium housing, a cushioned 3-piece coupling and a steel worm shaft. The gearbox is sealed for life, ensuring that the component can withstand repeated outdoor use within a regularly operated golf trolley.
The GB41 is a product of our in-house product design and development (PDD) facility. The PDD team consists of 17 engineers who use their expertise to design bespoke motors from a range of industry segments. The engineers are educated to at least degree level and use the latest software to provide a quick ‘time to market’ for new product introductions and modifications from the existing product range.
The application engineers at our dedicated test facility carried out an accelerated life test on the GB41 using a golf trolley test rig. In order to apply a variable load on the product, an electromagnetic particle brake is used, replicating the steep inclines of a typical golf course. The rig performs 4000 cycles on the gearbox, simulating 250 rounds of golf!
Parvalux Technical Director Martin Pennock explains the vision behind the new product:
“We recognised that a universally mounted gearbox would benefit our OEM and MRO customers, who wish to retrofit existing golf trolleys on the market. The GB41 is also available in low volume for fast turnaround from our Parvalux Service Centre.”
