A honey extractor motor powers a machine that harvests honey from a honeycomb.

Beekeeping is a centuries-old process that removes honey from a wax honeycomb, created by the bees. The traditional method used to extract honey from the wax comb was to scrape it away. However, this was laborious and often destroyed the combs. Bees would then need time to remake them and production halted.

Spinning the combs improves production because centrifugal force releases the honey more efficiently. Honeycomb is fragile, and extraction can cause it damage. Honey extractors use special frames to protect the combs from damage, which means they can be reused immediately. This improves honey production by reducing the time it takes to make and fill a new comb.

Mechanising the process helps improve productivity and Parvalux powers some of the leading honey extractor brands, used globally. Our motors also spin up very quickly, which makes them ideal for use in motorised honey extractors. They are also are efficient and deliver powerful, quiet operation.

We produce standard and semi customised electric motors. In addition, we can develop a fully customised honey extractor motor, specific to the available space envelope. Our design team is fluent in the latest SolidWorks 3D CAD software.

Parvalux motors and gearboxes are available through the global maxon distribution network. Your local maxon office can be found here.
